Sharyn studied Classical Ballet for 11 years with Estella Nova and Jeffrey Kovel, followed by two years at Scully Borovansky and four years at Bodenweisser Dance Centre. In addition to classical training, she explored a wide range of dance genres including Flamenco and Spanish dance styles, Jazz, Primitive, Aboriginal, Character, Contemporary, and Lyrical.
In 1990, Sharyn completed her RAD Teaching Diploma, and in 1999 she achieved her Advanced RAD Teaching Diploma with the Royal Academy of Dance. Her advanced studies incorporated Diplomas in Dance History, Anatomy, and Child Psychology and Development. Over the years, she has continued to expand her expertise through numerous professional development courses, including Level 1 Dance Physiotherapy, Pilates, Nutrition for Dancers, Methodology in Dance, Music, and many others. After owning and operating her own dance school for 21years, Sharyn sold the school and now works as a freelance teacher and coach. She became an examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance in 2003 and, in 2019, was appointed as a Practical Teaching Supervisor (PTS), positions she continues to hold today.
In 2017, Sharyn qualified as a DIR Floortime Therapist through Profectum and established Dance Over the Spectrum, a dance school supporting children with additional needs. In this role, she works as both a dance teacher and therapist, assisting children with conditions such as ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and more.
In 2021, she founded Tout le Ballet, a coaching, mentoring, and tutoring school designed to support and inspire both teachers and students, offering programs online and face-to-face. Sharyn is a member of International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS), Profectum, and the Royal Academy of Dance.
Sharyn shares, “I have a passion to teach and educate dance and music to children of all ages and abilities and to assist and inspire teachers wherever I can.”
