At the age of 5, Natalie started Physical Culture with the Sans Souci Physical Culture Club. She was the first girl in seven years to be selected for the State Championships. This ignited her passion for music and dance, so in 1987 Natalie began ADA (formerly FATD) Tap and Jazz classes at the Kym Barnett School of Dance, and Cecchetti Ballet classes under the guidance of Miss Helen De Paul.
Natalie began teaching at a young age, gaining a lot of experience. She completed her Elementary Cecchetti Ballet Exam in 1997
Natalie attended Nadine’s Academy of Dance, where under the guidance and tuition of Frances Fontana (ADA Examiner) she completed her Advanced Diploma in both Tap and Jazz, attaining the highest results for each teacher’s exams. During this time she also attended the University Of New South Wales gaining a Combined Double Degree in Bachelor of Commerce and Science.
Natalie has performed in musicals such as The King and I, with the Regals Musical Society Inc, and Brigadoon with the Sutherland Shire Light Opera Company.
Natalie was a member of the St George Illawara Dragons Cheerleading squad for 5 years, under the strict guidance of June Renaud. This was another opportunity to do what she loved – Dance and Perform.
In May of 2013, Natalie was thrilled to be offered a position on the ADA Examining Board & has gained her Examining Certificate. She remains a part of that examiners board.
‘I am very grateful for the wonderful teachers I have had. I take pride in my teaching quality and standard, and am happy that I am able to instil in my students the discipline, knowledge and enjoyment that dance brings me.’
